Under the NCS Financial Services Group, Chris offers fintech powered alternative banking services to the unbanked and underbanked, with the goal of financial empowerment, capital formation and economic mobility.  The Group, which consists of two remittance companies, a loan company and an operating company, is the leading money services business provider in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Mr. Stokes is an adjunct consultant with the University of the West Indies, Mona School of Business’ Professional Services Unit and does team building, change management and leadership training for corporations worldwide under his knowledge-based business, nchristianstokes.com.  He has delivered high impact key-note speeches to a wide variety of audiences world-wide.  He is a columnist for viewpointsja.com, a thought leader blog for Jamaica’s leading newspaper, the Gleaner and a guest commentator on ‘That’s a Wrap’, Jamaica’s leading weekly news review program.

Chris was awarded the Order of Distinction, Officer Class, Jamaica’s sixth highest national honor, by the Government of Jamaica for his contribution to the development of the sport.  Chris is the First Vice President for the Jamaica Olympic Association, an Olympian’s Association of Jamaica Director and a member of the PanamSports Marketing Commission. He is a 4-Time Olympian as a member of the Jamaica Bobsleigh Team and has played a key role as both athlete and administrator in establishing Jamaica Bobsleigh as a leading, though unlikely, competitor in the sport, with multiple Olympic qualifications, and medal placements at international competitions.  He is currently Chairman, of the Jamaica Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation.  His book, ‘Cool Runnings and Beyond – the Story of the Jamaican Bobsleigh Team’ is the definitive history of this renowned Jamaican brand.  His company, Akan Sports Management, supports athletes in their educational and asset management plans to facilitate successful post-competition life.  He is also Co-Founder and Chairman Akan Track Club.

Immediately before starting his own group of companies, Chris held the position of General Manager – International Business Division at National Commercial Bank, Jamaica Limited (NCB). Prior to joining NCB he held the post of Senior Vice-President – Business Development at the Victoria Mutual Building Society.

He holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Washington State University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Idaho, a post-graduate diploma in banking from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and certification in advanced Spanish from the University of Eafit, Colombia. Chris is currently a Doctoral student at the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies at the University of the West Indies, where his thesis, ‘Does Leadership Matter? How Can CEO Leadership Style Impact Financial Stability?
